- How the Raiders turned a Sarasota hotel into their Florida headquarters

SARASOTA, Fla. — Walk through the front doors of the Ritz Carlton hotel in downtown Sarasota this week, turn right in the lobby and you’ll encounter a series of signs cordially asking that you not proceed any farther. “Private Event. Please Do Not Enter.” Beyond another set of doors, what is typically a series of meeting rooms has been transformed this week into the Florida headquarters of the Raiders, who are staying and practicing back East between road games at Buffalo and Miami. As they did between Weeks 7 and 8 last season, the Raiders are sleeping and holding meetings at their team hotel and practicing at IMG Academy in nearby Bradenton.
