Oakland is giving season three of “Twin Peaks” the send-off it deserves. The two-part series finale screens Sunday, Sept. 3 at the New Parkway Theater. If you’ve been keeping up with my “Twin Peaks” column “Postcards from the Lodge,” you’ll know how bizarre yet melancholic this season has turned out. Showtime has given director David Lynch an unprecedented amount of resources, time and freedom that I thought died out with Ernie Kovacs. I was wrong. Lynch’s mind still remains a mystery. But this summer, we’ve been privileged enough to stew in it. I’ll leave my comments on the “Twin Peaks” legacy for another day.
