    You can’t have an adaptation about the deadly events that happened in Waco in 1993 without your David Koresh.Paramount Network, the new name for Spike TV come January 2018, is kicking off its rebranding with “Waco,” a six-part miniseries based on the deadly shootout at the Branch Davidians compound.The series features an all-star cast including Taylor Kitsch, who’s playing Koresh, the leader of a religious community that became the target of a federal investigation and subsequent standoff.The 51-day standoff ended in the deaths of 76 men, women and children, including Koresh himself.

  • Paramount Network to Adapt ‘First Wives’ Club Into TV Series

    Paramount Network announced Monday that it’s developing a new half-hour series based on the 1996 film “First Wives Club.”Tracy Oliver, who most recently co-wrote the screenplay for the adult comedy summer hit “Girls Trip” is attached to the project. She became the first African-American woman to write a movie that grossed over $100 million domestically.The series will have roughly the same plot as the film, which starred Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn as a trio of recently-divorced women who seek revenge on their husbands, who left them for younger women. In the meantime, the group also bonds together and finds strength to move forward thanks to their sisterhood.
