Just sleep on it Tired of bed-hopping in mattress stores that carry the same models under different names so it’s impossible to comparison-shop? Or ordering a one-size-fits-all mattress online? A British store thinks it can beat brick-and-mortar rivals and online competitors. John Lewis will let customers test a mattress overnight at a fully furnished apartment in London, Liverpool and Cambridge in the fall. “We are not just selling you a mattress. We are selling you a perfect night’s sleep,” Managing Director Paula Nickolds told the Sun newspaper. She also has added a restaurant on the roof of the London store and has been sending staffers to drama school to boost their confidence.
