Starz has picked up the Stephenie Meyer supernatural drama “The Rook” to series, the network announced on Friday.Based on the novel by Daniel O’Malley, “The Rook” follows a young woman who wakes up in a London park with amnesia and is pursued by shadowy paranormal adversaries while grappling with extraordinary abilities of her own. It is set to premiere in 2018.The series, produced by Lionsgate in partnership with Liberty Global, is executive produced by Stephen Garrett alongside Meyer and Meghan Hibbett. The show, written and co-produced by Sam Holcroft and Al Muriel was previously in development at Hulu.

(AP) — State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced a civil rights investigation on Monday into The Weinstein Co. following sexual harassment and assault allegations against its co-founder, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.As part of the investigation, the prosecutor's office issued a subpoena seeking company records on harassment complaints and legal settlements to determine whether any civil rights and anti-discrimination laws were broken."No New Yorker should be forced to walk into a workplace ruled by sexual intimidation, harassment or fear," said Schneiderman, a Democrat.
