    The London Metropolitan Police has opened an investigation into sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein, according to a statement obtained by TheWrap.“”The Metropolitan Police Service was passed an allegation of sexual assault by Merseyside Police on Wednesday, 11 October,” the Metropolitan Police Service said in a statement. “The allegation will be assessed by officers from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command.”The department also said it would not name the suspect involved, but several British media outlets are reporting that it is Weinstein.
