- Art exhibit expressly for canine critics debuts in NYC
By FRANK ELTMAN, Associated Press - Friday Aug 11, 2017
A three-day art exhibition curated expressly for dogs is attracting hundreds of canines to a marina in lower Manhattan, where hounds and terriers are feasting their eyes, and in some cases their mouths, on nearly a dozen masterpieces. The idea is the brainchild of former Washington Post art critic Jessica Dawson, who says she was inspired by her rescue dog Rocky, a tiny morkie (Yorkie-Maltese mix), who regularly joins her at exhibits of the human variety.Organizers of the exhibit, which takes its name from Documenta, which takes place every five years in Kassel, Germany, and put on by Arts at Brookfield, staggered the arrival times of the dogs to keep things orderly.

- Marina District view home blends traditional with contemporary
By Jordan Guinn - Friday Aug 25, 2017
Breathtaking vistas are a hallmark of many Marina District homes, and that’s especially true for a trilevel on Marina Boulevard. “The home has absolutely killer views,” said Eva Daniel of Hill & Company, who is co-listing the house with Travis Hale for $8.995 million. Found at the edge of the Marina Green, 465 Marina Blvd. enjoys views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Large windows along the facade frame views of daily occurrences like passing ships, rolling fog and kites soaring in the bay breeze. The home opens to a dramatic entryway and segues into a living room with a beamed ceiling and fireplace with a handsome mantelpiece.
