    On the final day of the regular season, the Minnesota Lynx secured the top seed in the WNBA playoffs, while the defending champion Los Angeles Sparks will be the No. 2 seed. Those two teams, who met in the WNBA Finals last season, have byes until the semifinals. The host Lynx beat the Washington Mystics 86-72 on Sunday, a win they needed because the Sparks, who were a game behind and held the tiebreaker, beat the visiting Connecticut Sun 81-70. Minnesota finished with the league’s best record for the fifth time in seven years. The New York Liberty earned the No. 3 seed by beating the Dallas Wings 82-81 as they matched a franchise record with a 10th straight win.
