Hasbro’s My Little Pony product line has launched a new effort from Grey New York, featuring a social experiment tied to theback-to-school season.
A video of the experiment features meetings between kids and their best friend’s parents in a classroom setting, where the parents get to know their own children alittle better by listening to what their best friends have to say about them.
The main idea is to celebrate the power of friendship, part of the brand positioning of the My Little Pony line.The brand’s tagline is “Friendship is Magic.
Grey went to a public school in New York City and invited parents to hear how their child was doing at school. The twist was whenparents arrived it wasn’t a teacher waiting but their child’s best friend doing the talking. According to Grey, parents realized that “seeing their child through the eyes of a friendwas the best report card of all.”
