- Alameda Point water deemed safe to drink
By Michael Cabanatuan - Friday Sep 15, 2017
Residents and visitors to Alameda Point can again safely drink and use the tap water, officials announced Friday night. A news release from the Alameda Police Department said the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water had lifted its do-not-drink order, imposed Tuesday after tests by the East Bay Municipal Utility District showed it unfit for drinking or human contact. Officials advise running all faucets for 10 minutes to flush out contaminants before using water for drinking, washing, cooking or brushing teeth. Results from two rounds of tests showed no contaminants present in the tap water, according to the release.
