  • Syracuse stuns No. 2 Clemson 27-24
By John Kekis - Saturday Oct 14, 2017

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — As the celebration in the Syracuse locker room reverberated through the walls of the Carrier Dome, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney winced a little bit, dreams of a perfect season lost in a sea of orange. Eric Dungey threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns, Cole Murphy kicked a tie-breaking field goal in the fourth quarter, and Syracuse stunned No. 2 Clemson 27-24 on Friday night to put a damper on the Tigers’ hopes of repeating as national champions. - Monday Oct 9, 2017

Megyn Kelly opened her show Monday with a tour-de-force interview with Lauren Sivan, a television reporter who came forward on Friday to accuse Hollywood titan Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct.“He immediately exposed himself, and began pleasuring himself and I just stood there dumbfounded,” Sivan told Kelly after breaking her silence to journalist Yashar Ali over the weekend. “I was so shocked. I could not believe what I was witnessing. It was disgusting and kind of pathetic really.”In a tense retelling of an encounter she said happened a decade ago, Sivan described how Weinstein had lured her into the kitchen of Cafe Socialista, a restaurant he owned in New York, blocked the door, and masturbated in front of her.

  • Groups seek ban on high-dose opioids citing overdose danger
By CARLA K. JOHNSON, AP Medical Writer - Thursday Aug 31, 2017

CHICAGO (AP) — Safety advocates and state health officials are formally calling on the Food and Drug Administration to ban high-dose opioid painkillers to prevent accidental overdose deaths among patients and people who abuse drugs.A petition filed Thursday asks the FDA to ban opioid pills that, when taken as directed, would add up to a daily dose of more than 90 milligrams of morphine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said that level is dangerous for most patients and doesn't improve pain control or the ability to function.
