    The Diamondbacks acquired outfielder J.D. Martinez from Detroit for a package of prospects, hoping to solidify a trouble spot while making a run toward the playoffs.The Tigers received Double-A infielder Dawel Lugo, switch-hitting infield prospect Sergio Alcantara and shortstop Jose King in Tuesday’s deal.Vogt, the former A’s catcher selected off waivers by the NL Central-leading Brewers last month, was hurt Monday when Pittsburgh pitcher Chad Kuhl ran into him in the fifth inning of the Pirates’ 4-2 victory.All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa of the AL West-leading Astros is expected to miss six to eight weeks because of a torn ligament in his left thumb.Minnesota right-hander Phil Hughes will miss the rest of the season because of persistent arm trouble related to a condition that required rib-removal surgery a year ago. ...The Reds placed right-handed pitcher Scott Feldman on the 10-day DL with right knee inflammation.

  • Sierra Trading Post Re-Launches Brand With Campaign From Grey NY

    Sierra Trading Post, part of the T.J.Maxx, HomeGoods & Marshalls Family, has been around for 30+ years, but is reintroducing the brand with a national marketing campaign dubbed, “Go Wild,Folks.”  

    As part of the brand relaunch, from Grey New York, the firm has launched its first TV ad called “Fight orFlight.”

    The campaign’s messaging is intended to communicate the idea that the great outdoors is accessible to anyone, from the avid campers and bikers to people who enjoy tooccasional outdoor activity.

    STP promotes its vast selection, well-known brands and comparatively small prices, as the go-to emporium for everybody’s apparel and gear needs for outdooraccessibility.

    The brand did a soft launch of "Go Wild, Folks" over Labor Day weekend via social media, parodying extreme athletic events launching with “Cliff, Diving,” that showcased (you guessed it) people named Cliff,  displaying their divingprowess (or lack thereof).  Long- and short-form versions of the video have over a million views across all social platforms to date. 

    Throughout 2017, Sierra Trading Post will rollout additional spots and new social media content.

  • Shareholders weigh British American, Reynolds tobacco merger

(AP) — Shareholders of British American Tobacco and Reynolds American Inc. were scheduled to decide Wednesday whether to approve a merger that would create the world's largest publicly traded tobacco company.The takeover marks an end for what became R.J. Reynolds Tobacco, which stamped its home state of North Carolina as a center during a bygone era of smoking's popularity through its Winston and Salem brands.
