Showrunners, you’ve finally made it. Into the dictionary, that is.Merriam-Webster added 250 new words on Monday, including “showrunner,” a term commonly used in the entertainment industry for the lead writer-producer on a television series.The noun (with verb potential) made it in the morning after the 69th annual Emmy Awards. Coincidence? Our favorite dictionary-turned-Twitter-wise-guy is back with fresh insights into our crazy, crazy times.
Merriam-Webster is expanding its vocabulary list with over 250 new words and definitions. While some of them reflect outstanding technological and societal changes, others seem to hint at how messed up our post-Trump era has become.
