  • Kiosk Fest finds home in newsstands
    Monday Aug 28, 2017

This weekend Market Street is slated to host a festival unlike any other. The second Kiosk Fest will celebrate the literary arts via the green newspaper kiosks lining the avenue, presenting pop-up shops from writers, booksellers, printing presses, magazine publishers and zine distributors on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1-2. Organized by Courtney Riddle, the owner of the mini zine shop on Market called the Grand Newsstand, the festival hopes to repurpose the old newsstands, if only for a weekend, as a showcase for local artists and writers. Writing workshops, live music and readings take place throughout. There will also be a scavenger hunt through the 63 vendors and 25 participating kiosks.
