Quick: Before President Donald Trump’s childhood home is turned into an historical landmark and presidential museum, book a stay in it on Airbnb. The *ahem* historic property is being rented out to anyone willing to pony up $725 night to stay in Jamaica, Queens. While most visitors to New York City would not jump at the chance to fork over that much cash (after all, rooms at the Trump Soho start at only $275 a night and you can swipe a Trump-branded pen), the historic import makes the trip on the F train worth it.

  • Corporate America Couldn’t Just Let Us Enjoy The Eclipse
By Jeff Beer - Monday Aug 21, 2017

Because everything, even the moon temporarily blotting out the sun, is a commercial opportunity.

There was a moment in modern marketing–and it was just a moment, right around the time social media still felt like a new, fun club we all just joined, but not yet a required media outlet–that a well-timed tweet from a brand to acknowledge, pay tribute to, or joke about a cultural event would be well received, and maybe even thoroughly enjoyed. • Team Jamaica supporters make a blistering comeback to Trump's remarks about Usain Bolt
By Gianluca Mezzofiore - Wednesday Sep 27, 2017

Trump is going to learn the hard way what happens when you attempt to throw a country's favourite idol into the political arena for your personal gains.

The U.S. president is embroiled in a bitter fight with NFL players over their #TakeAKnee protest during pre-matches national anthems.

So he thought better to tweet a video from the 2012 Summer Olympics showing Jamaica's national pride and world renowned sprinter Usain Bolt, cutting a live interview as the U.S. national anthem plays in the background:

  • The conundrum of corporate gifts
    By Marc A. Pitman - Thursday May 25, 2017

Last week, I was able to listen to a terrific discussion from business leaders about how their organizations make corporate gifts to charities. It's always good to hear the thought process of donors. But it sometimes raises more questions than it settles. Seeking corporate gifts? Don't be "that" guy At one point in the conversation,

  • Trump’s overseas corporate tax plan is spot on
By John Crudele - Monday Aug 28, 2017

The Trump administration is doing the right thing in considering a plan to allow corporations to bring back — “repatriate,” it is called — some $2.6 trillion in corporate profits that were earned overseas and left there because the companies didn’t want to pay US taxes. I advocated this repatriation a long, long time before...
