  • Weekend rain in the Bay Area to be lighter than first expected
By Sarah Ravani - Thursday Nov 2, 2017

As Bay Area residents prepare for a wet weekend, forecasters say that the storm system moving into the region is fizzling out and bringing less rain than anticipated. San Francisco and Oakland will see about a half inch of rain over the next few days with the South Bay to receive even less, said Drew Peterson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. The storm could bring an inch of rain to the North Bay, particularly in the areas that were burned by wildfires throughout October, but it’s unlikely, Peterson said. For the most part, he forecasts that the North Bay will likely get two-thirds of an inch of rain.

A star was born. “I think that was the beginning of the type of player Tim Raines could be,” Raines, 57, recalled. “It kind of got me going.
