Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert received “vile, disgusting” voice mails after LeBron James called President Trump a “bum” on Twitter. Gilbert said he was flooded with phone messages when the NBA star criticized Trump for rescinding a White House invitation to Golden State’s Stephen Curry to honor the Warriors’ NBA championship. “I received voice mails after LeBron tweeted that were some of the most vile, disgusting, racist,” Gilbert said Friday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box. “There’s an element of racism that I didn’t even realize existed in this country this much.” Gilbert called the comments unnerving. “And you could hear it in their voice — the racism,” Gilbert said.
