The incident occurred about 10:50 a.m., and by 11 a.m., smoke in the station had dissipated and a train that was in the station when the incident occurred inspected and resumed its route, according to Taylor Huckaby, a BART spokesman. No one was injured in the incident, but some riders took to social media to express their alarm at the loud noise, smoke, and flash of light when the insulator blew, afraid an explosion had occurred. At 11:09 a.m., BART announced 20 minute residual delays in the East Bay direction at San Francisco stations because of the earlier problem.
