  • Other Raiders can’t carry Marshawn Lynch’s dancin’ shoes
By Scott Ostler - Monday Sep 18, 2017

The Raiders? A bunch of wallflowers. Invite ’em to the dance and the Raiders all stand there sipping punch, too shy to join the fun. When Marshawn Lynch broke into a wild dance on the sideline in the fourth quarter Sunday, shaking his dreads and his bootie, he danced alone. “I was actually inspired,” head coach Jack Del Rio said. “I was going to join him.” At least three of Lynch’s teammates also said they thought about joining his dance. Talk is cheap. It’s a good bet, though, that all those wannabe dancers will get another chance to trip the light fantastic with Lynch.

  • Tennessee defense braces for Marshawn Lynch’s debut for the Raiders
By Ron Kroichick - Friday Sep 8, 2017

Todd Downing will make his debut as the Raiders’ offensive coordinator Sunday in Nashville. That’s nice and all, but another debut figures to command more headlines: Marshawn Lynch’s inaugural game for his hometown team. Lynch gives Downing a difficult-to-counter chess piece as he prepares for his duel with storied Tennessee defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, in his 46th year of coaching in the NFL. LeBeau, a Hall of Fame cornerback, turns 80 on Saturday. Lynch offers a prime example of why coaching is a crazy business. LeBeau can craft the most creative and brilliant game plan ever, but it’s all moot if Lynch shifts into Beast Mode and steamrolls prospective tacklers.

  • Raiders ride Lynch’s two touchdowns to 27-24 win over Dolphins
By Matt Kawahara - Monday Nov 6, 2017

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Head coach Jack Del Rio said the Raiders needed to get their “mojo” back against Miami. Marshawn Lynch appeared to regain his early in the third quarter. Held to three yards on five carries in the first half, Lynch got loose on a handoff up the middle, breaking an ankle tackle at the line of scrimmage and coming face-to-face with safety Michael Thomas. Lynch cut left, Thomas stumbled and Lynch cruised in for a 22-yard touchdown run. The Dolphins proved stubborn dance partners, but Lynch’s second touchdown, a 3-yard gallop with 4:37 left in the game, secured a 27-24 win for the Raiders, who started the second half of their season with a much-needed victory at Hard Rock Stadium.
