Oakland’s Kendra Kimbrough Dance Ensemble presents a revival of the dance-drama “In the Meantime,” a multidisciplinary performance that weds dance and text. The production depicts a family whose lives are re-wrought in the face of cancer, with a special look at the uneasiness of “the meantime,” when survival is possible but not a certainty. “In the Meantime” is co-directed by Bay Area playwright and performing artist Delina Patrice Brooks and Kendra Kimbrough Barnes, who presents the work in remembrance of her mother’s experience with breast cancer, and in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
