A former CAA client is suing the agency and agent she says sexually assaulted and harassed her, accusing the company of refusing to meet with her when she attempted to report the agent’s behavior.In a lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court on Thursday, actress Demi Mann accused agent Cameron Mitchell of a long-term campaign of sexual harassment, of forcing her to perform sex acts and, in one instance, of drugging her. She also accuses Mitchell, a movie talent agent whose clients include Common, Djimon Hounsou, and Terrence Howard, of making repeated false promises and failing to find her roles.

Richard Simmons’ lawsuit against the National Enquirer’s parent company could very well be transitioning toward a dismissal.Fitness guru Simmons, who is suing the tabloid over reports that he had undergone a sex change, was handed a big setback on Wednesday, when a judge tentatively ruled to strike Simmons’ complaint against American Media Inc. and Radar Online LLC.The ruling explored whether the mere act of inaccurately identifying someone as transgender is actionable or not.“[T]he court now arrives at the heart of this issue: does falsely reporting that a person is transgender have a natural tendency to injury [sic] one’s reputation?” the ruling reads in part.

Four dockworkers at the Port of Oakland are suing three companies that employ them for allegedly supporting a racially hostile work environment after racial epithets, nooses and Confederate flags reported in the workplace went unaddressed. The suit, filed on Sept. 1 in Alameda County Superior Court, names the Pacific Maritime Association and the affiliated Stevedoring Services of America and SSA Terminals LLC, both of which are overseen by Pacific Maritime Association. The alleged incidents of harassment and intimidation listed in the suit include nooses hung around the docks, signs that included racial epithets and Confederate flags put up by other company employees.
