- Marshawn Lynch’s fingers announce he’s back
By Corey Masisak - Sunday Sep 10, 2017
Welcome back, Marshawn Lynch. Lynch’s first game with the Raiders after ending a one-year retirement had a little bit of everything. The war wages on between ousted Kermit the Frog puppeteer Steve Whitmire and the Muppets franchise.Cheryl wrote on Facebook earlier this week that Whitmire was never Jim’s choice to take over for him as the beloved character, adding that Whitmire’s vision of Kermit had veered from Jim’s.The performer added that he agreed with Cheryl’s take on the evolution of Kermit, and that he had even tried to point this out to the studio, which he believes contributed to him getting fired.“I hope all of you and Cheryl, too, can understand that being outspoken about these very character issues to the top creative executives on the ABC series is at the core of the number one issue stated to me for my termination by The Muppets Studios,” Whitmire wrote.
- One-game suspension upheld for Raiders’ Marshawn Lynch
By Matt Kawahara - Tuesday Oct 24, 2017
Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch will not play Sunday at Buffalo after his one-game suspension was upheld by the league. Lynch was suspended for making contact with an official during the Raiders’ 31-30 win over Kansas City on Thursday night. Lynch appealed his suspension Monday, but to no avail. NFL appeals officer James Thrash heard Lynch’s appeal. Oakland will likely replace Lynch against the Bills with a combination of running backs Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington and Jamize Olawale. Lynch had two carries for nine yards before being ejected in Thursday’s game and has 72 carries for 266 yards this season.
