The Brazilian master composer and guitarist Guinga has been covered more than 155 times on at least 100 albums by other artists, and has appeared in Bay Area jazz spots like Yoshi’s in Oakland, Berkeley’s Casa de Cultura and the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival in San Francisco. This weekend he returns to the Bay Area at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley on Saturday, Aug. 26. Italian pianist Stefania Tallini will accompany Guinga on piano.
