The Trump administration ordered the Russian Consulate in San Francisco to shut down, the latest in a series of tit-for-tat retaliations between the U.S. and Russia. In addition to the San Francisco closure announced Thursday, State Department officials said the U.S. would scale back the Russian diplomatic presence in Washington and New York. “In the spirit of parity invoked by the Russians, we are requiring the Russian Government to close its Consulate General in San Francisco, a chancery annex in Washington, D.C., and a consular annex in New York City,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement.

The Museum of the African Diaspora’s Afropolitan Ball on Saturday, Oct. 28, raised more than a million bucks, which more than met the monetary goal of this all-out swanky party.
