  • Fireball, the unofficial beverage of regret, is now available in bagel form
By Chloe Bryan - Thursday Sep 21, 2017

Ever wake up regretting that last shot of Fireball? Well, now you can extend that regret all the way through breakfast.

The Fireball bagel is the latest bizarre offering from The Bagel Nook, a bagel shop in Freehold, New JerseyPer Delish, the semi-boozy treats are made by pouring a bit of Fireball into the bagel dough itself, then dunking the finished bagels in a glaze made from even more of the liquor (reduced, of course, so it's not actually alcoholic).

It's served with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar and a hearty schmear of apple pie cream cheese. Something tells us it might also be good with hazelnut cream cheese? Someone test this for us, please. Read more...

  • Giant DIY bagel bite puts all the small ones to shame
By Chelsea Candelario - Friday Sep 22, 2017

One regular Bagel Bite isn't enough, not even five are. But a giant one can reduce the cravings.

HellthyJunkFood, known for recreating popular fast food recipes, decided to make their own Bagel Bites including a huge one you might need two hands (or four) to hold. The fun size bites looked right out of the store-bought box, but the jumbo size bagel bite might just need a new name—and a bigger microwave.  Read more...

  • Travel books: Delicious “Desserts of New York”
By Spud Hilton - Wednesday Aug 2, 2017

[...] in “The Desserts of New York” (Hardie Grant Books, 240 pages, $24.99), author Yasmin Newman has managed to create a “recipe-slash-travel journal and guide” that gives a comprehensive view of the city’s sweets, as well as insights into the people, places and cultures where they thrive.Goodies cover the range from traditional — cannoli, babka and a brief history of New York cheesecake — to modern takeoffs, including black sesame cream puffs, S’mores baked Alaska, fig and Marsala glazed scones and “luxe” Oreo cookies.Newman does an impressive job finding, organizing and assessing everything that feeds New York City’s voracious sweet tooth, but as the book’s principal photographer, she captures the restaurants and patrons, as well the everyday life in increasingly hip neighborhoods where new desserts are being born and centuries-old recipes are finding new life.Ice creams range from burnt marshmallow (delectable) to red pepper fig, while popsicles are boozy and cones are decked in cotton candy. On cultures: In New York, Jewish delis, Greek coffee shops, Korean-run grocery stores and Latino bodegas all signal a multicultural city whose rich heritage and minority-majority makeup is proudly woven through daily life, and also its delicious sweets.Moe’s Doughs Donut Shop: Following the social media splash of rainbow bagels in early 2016, multicolored just-about-everything started appearing, including rainbow doughnuts at Moe’s Doughs.

  • The bagel doughnut is the latest bizarre food trend to divide the internet
By Chloe Bryan - Wednesday Jul 19, 2017

Would you rather reach for a bagel or a doughnut in the morning? Hard decision, right? Both are delicious in unique and equally life-changing ways.

Well, thanks to Virginia bakery B. Doughnut (and a slew of other bakeries, too), you no longer have to choose. Its signature everything bagel doughnut is currently making waves online thanks to a D.C. popup and a spot in the Washington Post, and people have lots of opinions.
