  • Take a bite out of summer with these corn-inspired sex toys
By Cassie Murdoch - Saturday Aug 12, 2017

It’s peak corn season, friends. And what better to celebrate your favorite cobbed vegetable than by eating getting down and dirty with it?

Yes, it’s all fine and dandy to gnaw on the real thing, but why confine yourself when there is such a lovely array of corn-inspired sex toys? Now, thanks to these ripe and ready gadgets, you can give a whole new meaning to shucking.

    LeLe Sex Corn-Shaped Silicone Dildo

This is basically a corn on the cob with a nice little penis hat. It comes in a large size (10 inches; $24) or small (8 inches; $19), depending on how large of an appetite you have. It's also got a powerful suction base (so your corn doesn't go flying across the room!), and the product's description promises that it's "amazing corn particles strongly stimulate pleasure hot spots." Dig in.  Read more...

  • Lawmaker seeks probe after AP reveals maggots in NY facility
By DAVID KLEPPER, Associated Press - Saturday Aug 12, 2017

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A New York state lawmaker is demanding a federal investigation into New York state's care for the disabled following a recent Associated Press story that revealed the case of a man infested with maggots in a state-run group home.Democratic Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, of Utica, told the AP on Saturday that he is asking the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to investigate the group home and other state-regulated facilities for the disabled where there have been allegations of abuse and neglect.A copy of the report was obtained by The Associated Press, which found that New York state is not alone in making it difficult for members of the public to access records about allegations of abuse and neglect in state-regulated facilities for the disabled.

  • How Much Black Licorice Does It Take To Overdose?
By Kate Cox - Monday Oct 30, 2017

The trinity of divisive Halloween candies is made up of candy corn, marshmallow peanuts, and of course black licorice — perhaps the treat most likely to elicit either only joy or rage when it’s put into one’s candy sack. But there’s one thing that even those who stand firmly on the “love” side of this unbridgeable, anise-flavored chasm should know: …

  • The only good corn holders are the ones shaped like corn
By Chloe Bryan - Tuesday Jul 4, 2017

As we know, the best part of summer is eating corn on the cob from these little corn-shaped skewers.

Corn holders are wonderful for two reasons: 1) They let you grasp hot corn with ease (the dream!) and 2) Because they are shaped like tiny corn. We need not look further than tiny cooking videos to realize that tiny versions of food are, well, good.

And that's why I was so disturbed when I discovered that some corn holders are not shaped like corn.

For example, what are these? Like hell I want to pierce half a shark into my delicious corn. Please spare me!! Read more...

  • How Being A Product Designer Has Helped Me Redesign My Life
By Alex Huang - Saturday Nov 18, 2017

Turns out the same principles for building consumer apps can help you decide whether to redecorate and even improve how you talk to your little brother.

Lately I’ve caught myself dropping startup-y language in ordinary conversations with my friends. They’ve begun doing the same. Most of the time it’s said ironically, but sometimes we’ll look at each other half-seriously yet too embarrassed to admit that “proof of concept” actually makes perfect sense in a remark about, I don’t know, scrambled eggs.
