Apple’s first event inside the new Steve Jobs Theater started with a moment of silence for the late Apple co-founder. The audience was asked to turn off their screens to listen to the recorded voice of Steve Jobs filling the room, telling the crowd it was important for people to be “true to who we are.” When the lights came on, current CEO Tim Cook welcomed everyone the crowd. “It is only fitting that Steve should open his theater,” he said. “We dedicate this theater to Steve because we loved him and because he loved days like this.” Steve Wozniak, Apple’s co-founder, said it was his first time at the Steve Jobs Theater, and he called it beautiful.
