Louisville, KY-based pizza chain Papa John's has selected Laundry Service as its new creative agency of record. WPP’s Grey was the incumbent.
"We're an e-commerce brand - it's time westop thinking in TV scripts," stated Brandon Rhoten, CMO of Papa John's. "Laundry Service's take on content aligns to where we want to go as a brand, and we couldn't be more excited to choose thisyoung, digital-first agency as our new creative partner."
The appointment is effective January 1, 2018. The agency’s remit includes creative and strategy across all marketingchannels.
The review kicked off in the summer and Laundry Service was selected from a field of eight, according to the client.

Hillickson waspreviously vice president of client services, West Coast, a post in which she led client partnerships and team management for west coast accounts including Amazon, T-Mobile and others.
In hernew role, Hillickson will oversee the company’s global accounts, and provide broader operational leadership across Laundry Service’s six offices.

NEW YORK (AP) — Newspaper publisher Tronc has acquired the Daily News, a storied New York tabloid newspaper that won a Pulitzer Prize this year but has been buffeted by the changing media environment.Chicago-based Tronc Inc., the publisher of the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune, announced the deal Monday night, and the Daily News posted a story on its website.Tronc CEO Justin Dearborn said acquiring the paper and its popular website would "provide us with another strategic platform for growing our digital business, expanding our reach and broadening our services for advertisers and marketers," and both Tronc and Daily News executives said the company would maintain the quality of the paper's journalism.
