- Dublin grassfire causes brief evacuation of hundreds
By Kevin Fagan - Wednesday Oct 18, 2017

The blaze broke out before 2 p.m., probably in a creek bed near Fallon and Tassajara roads near a newer section of town east of Interstate 580, and quickly burned at least 30 acres, officials reported. As it spread toward a subdivision, firefighters told residents to leave their homes while the attack mounted against the fire. By 5 p.m. the fire had grown to about 180 acres, but Alameda County Fire Department crews “hit it hard and hit it fast” with the help of a retardant-dropping aircraft, said Sgt.
