    A novelty electric train used at children’s parties was stolen Sunday morning from a company that rents carnival games in Pleasant Hill, officials said. A large black trailer containing the multicolored train was stolen from the 3000 block of Vincent Road in Pleasant Hill overnight on Saturday, police said. The train belongs to the Fun and Game Experts in Pleasant Hill, an employee posted on social media.

  • Firefighters battle East Bay brush fires

    Firefighters were battling three blazes in Brentwood on Saturday that had caused temporary evacuations of about 50 homes, fire officials said. The evacuation orders were lifted at 10:15 a.m. when the fires were at 225 acres and 60 percent contained, said Jim Crawford, a division chief for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
