The Sonoma County Fair kicks off its 81st season Thursday, Aug. 3, offering concerts, horse races, carnival attractions and a wide variety of family summer entertainment through Aug. 13.The NorCal Brew Fest sits trackside, during the fair’s historic Wine Country Horse Racing (bettors, check out Datebook’s Gambling column for tips), offering more than 50 beers and ciders and a competition of 160 entries from the nation’s top breweries.Separate tickets are required for entry into the fair’s brew fest.Other Saturday festivities includes an Eagles tribute band concert, a rodeo hosted by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (separate ticket also required) and more.Children 6 and younger are granted free admission to the fair.
