  • Teeny shelter puppies get an adorable newborn photoshoot
By Brian Koerber - Sunday Aug 13, 2017

"What happens when a foster mom is also a newborn photographer?" Kelly Frankenburg asked on her blog.

Adorable newborn puppy photos, of course.

Frankenburg is the photographer behind the lens of 11 Sixteen Photography, based out of Richmond, Virginia, which specializes in capturing newborn babies. Recently, she and her husband signed up to help the city's shelter by fostering a few tiny puppies. Naturally, she put her photography skills to work.

"A few days ago we welcomed Mama Paris and her three boy puppies into our home," Frankenburg wrote on her blog. "We will be fostering them until the puppies are eight weeks old and weaned from mama." Read more...

By Gianluca Mezzofiore - Tuesday Aug 1, 2017

George and Amal Clooney are stepping up their efforts to help Syrian refugee children get a formal education in Lebanon.

The Clooney Foundation for Justice said it's teaming up with Google and HP Inc to support the U.N. children's agency, Unicef, and the Lebanese ministry of education in their bid to open seven "second shift" schools for Syrian refugee children.

The project, which includes a $3.25 million donation from the three entities involved, will pay for transportation, school supplies, computers, content, curriculum and teacher training of 3,000 currently out-of-school refugee students.  Read more...

  • Two female artists are on a mission to collect 1,001 beautiful butts
By Rachel Thompson - Thursday Aug 10, 2017

Two female artists are embarking on a rather, um, unusual mission: to collect 1,001 butts. Yes, butts.

Montreal-based artists Emilie Mercier and Frédérique Marseille are photographing women's backsides in an attempt to celebrate the beauty of the female derrière.

Through the "1001 Fesses" — or 1001 Bums — photographic project, they hope to address the insecurities they feel about their bottoms, and explore the way other women feel about their own bodies.

Mercier and Marseille are taking pictures of "all kinds of women...and bums" with a view to creating a "visual poem." They're currently displaying their butt photography on Instagram and their website, but the pair one day hope to turn the photographs into a book.  Read more...

  • Never worry about a dull photo again with this mini flashlight clip
By Bari Blitzer - Monday Aug 14, 2017

Don't be the victim of full selfies. This mini flashlight is here for you. The enhancing LED fill-light can help brighten up any photo opportunity, whether it’s at the top of a mountain or inside of a club.

The light fits on both tablets and smartphones and is pretty user friendly. All you have to do is clip it to your device and turn on the switch. The battery has up to two hours of continuous light – hopefully it won't take you that long to nail the pic, though. Read more...
