- A Former Navy SEAL On The Hidden Influencers In Every Team
By Chris Fussell - Tuesday Jun 13, 2017
To spot who they are, have every new hire follow this rule for 90 days.
In 2010, I was an executive officer in the Navy, splitting my time between U.S. headquarters and being deployed to an international location. This arrangement proved tricky as my responsibilities at headquarters grew, so I was authorized to hire a civilian to handle budget management, equipment maintenance, travel, and training coordination, among other functions.
- Directors threw a fit over 'clean' movie versions, and Sony listened
By Angie Han - Wednesday Jun 14, 2017
Well, whaddaya know – maybe angry-tweeting works sometimes after all.
Earlier this month, Sony announced a new "Clean Version" initiative that would offer sanitized versions of its movies. Basically, the broadcast TV or airplane versions of the movies – the ones with all the bad language, brief nudity, and graphic violence cut out – would be available as extras on home video.
The response was swift and not all that positive. Several filmmakers responded with outrage – including Judd Apatow, who produced two of the movies slated to get the Clean Version treatment (Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Step Brothers). - Why people are calling on 'clean-shaven white men' to condemn London mosque attack
By Gianluca Mezzofiore - Monday Jun 19, 2017
An incident near Finsbury Park Mosque in London in which a man died and 10 people were injured after a man drove a van into worshippers is being treated as a "terrorist attack," Met Police confirmed.
The first media reports were naturally wary of describing it as a terror incident — the headline on the first BBC story was "Vehicle hits pedestrians in Finsbury Park" — as they were waiting for more details to trickle in.
However, one media organisation overreached with a really weird tweet: "Clean-shaven white man arrested by police as at least 10 people are injured." Read more...More about London, Terrorism, Finsbury Park Attack, Clean Shaven, and White Male Source: Mashable!
- Uber for pooping is here, and we can never go back
By Brett Williams - Tuesday Jun 20, 2017
New York City has a big problem: there aren't many clean, reliable bathrooms available. If you need to pop off the busy streets for a pitstop, you probably won't find a free toilet — and even the ones you pay for are more than likely gonna be icky.
But we live in a time when we can instantly summon just about anything with our smartphones. Surely some enterprising innovator will soon introduce an on-demand, clean bathroom service to disrupt the Big Toilet industry.
Enter Charmin. The toilet paper company is giving NYC a taste of toilet freedom with a two-day promotion for Van-GO, its new mobile-ordering bathroom experience, this week. The press-to-order service will send on-demand bathroom service to fulfill the dreams of germophobic pedestrians with overfilled bladders everywhere — or, at least the select neighborhoods the van will hit during its run.
