The South Korean company said Tuesday that it expects to retrieve 157 tons of gold, silver, cobalt, copper and other metals from millions of smartphones that were recalled and discontinued last year after their batteries were found to be prone to catching fire.The phone recall fiasco prompted Greenpeace to urge the South Korean tech giant to sell longer lasting electronics products that are easier to repair and upgrade.

A minor panic broke out when Iowa banned restaurants and bars from using copper mugs due to safety concerns.
The FDA guidelines say that copper shouldn't come to contact with foods that have a pH below 6.0. The pH of Moscow Mules is well below 6.0, but the copper mugs that are usually served with the drink are lined with tin or stainless steel.

The iPhone 8 can't be contained anymore.
Winget acquired three high-quality dummy units of what is believed to be the iPhone 8. Apple is expected to unveil the next iPhone in three colors (silver, black, and copper gold) according to KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo and Winget's mockups back the claim up.
While the all-black unit and silver/white models look slick, Winget didn't didn't have words for the new copper iPhone. With white bezels, he says it's his least favorite version out of the three iPhone 8 mockups, going as far to call it "hideous on this color."
