- Kyle Busch wins Xfinity Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen
By John Kekis - Saturday Aug 5, 2017
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — If Kyle Busch seemed to take a bit longer to take his customary bow after a NASCAR victory, it was understandable.Busch recovered from a spinout and a pit road penalty and survived a late restart to win the Zippo 200 on Saturday, his first triumph at Watkins Glen International in the Xfinity series and 90th in his career.Busch topped the Penske Racing duo of Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski and easily beat them on a restart with three laps to go.Busch has also won 39 Cup races and 48 Truck Series races for 177 overall NASCAR wins.

- Undertaker or caretaker? Trump's shifting health law role
By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR, Associated Press - Sunday Aug 6, 2017
WASHINGTON (AP) — With Republicans unable to advance a health care bill in Congress, President Donald Trump's administration may find itself in an awkward role as caretaker of the Affordable Care Act, which he still promises to repeal and replace.Consumer organizations, state officials, Democrats, insurers, and groups representing various health care interests will keep close tabs on the actions of Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price and his deputy, Seema Verma, who runs the federal agency that administers health insurance programs.Intimately familiar with HealthCare.gov, former Obama administration officials will be looking over the shoulders of the Trump team — Twitter accounts at the ready.About 10 million people are signed up for private insurance in subsidized markets, and 11 million more have coverage through expanded Medicaid.Few people managed to sign up that first day, and it took weeks for a technological rescue team to sort through layers of problems, restoring acceptable functionality.[...] chastening experience, Obama administration officials constantly kept tinkering with the website, trying to improve its technical capacity and usability for consumers. The "cost-sharing" subsidies are called for in the health law, but they are under a legal cloud because of a lawsuit brought earlier by House Republicans, questioning whether the law included a specific instruction for the government to pay the money. After the Senate's GOP health bill failed, the president sent out a series of tweets in which he seemed to threaten to stop the payments.Without a subsidy guarantee from Trump, some insurers have been seeking double-digit premium increases, on top of raises that reflect underlying medical costs.
