  • Crash prompts major delays on Bay Bridge

    An early-morning accident left two westbound lanes blocked on the Bay Bridge for about an hour near the Treasure Island on-ramp, backing up traffic to the metering lights on the span and causing at least 30 minute delays, officials said.The incident was first reported about 5:44 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, and four minutes later, a Sig-alert was issued notifying travelers that three lanes of the bridge were blocked due to a collision.All lanes were open at 6:40 a.m., but there were still residual delays, according to CHP.
