For four days, San Jose’s premier jazz cafe turns into the Church of the Kirk.The fifth annual Rahsaanathon, which celebrates the life and music of the multi-instrumentalist Rahsaan Roland Kirk, is set for Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 3-6, at Cafe Stritch.Named in honor of Kirk’s straight alto sax, the event boasts a stellar lineup of musicians who have played with the legend.Trombonist Steve Turre leads an all-star band featuring master reedman James Carter.
